Thrust ball bearings are classfied into those with flat seats or aligning seats depending on the shape of the outer ring sear(housing washer).They can sustain axial loads but no radial loads.
For single-direction Thrust Ball Bearings,pressed steel cages and machined brass cages usually used as shown.The cage in Double-Direction Thrust Ball Bearings are the same as those in Single-Direction Thrust Ball Bearings of the same diamteter series.

Applies only to withstand side of the axial load, the speed on the lower parts, such as crane hooks, vertical pumps, vertical centrifuge, jack, speed reducer and so on. Shaft bearing ring, seat ring and rolling elements are separated, you can dismantle respectively. |
II. Application of steel thrust ball bearing:
1.Thrust Ball Bearing should use close to the radial bearing, in order to prevent the effect of shafts deflection.
2.When using big size ball bearings on a horizontal shaft, preload should be implemented to prevent the clearance between housing washer and balls.
3.Under the inevitable circumstances of shaft deflection and misalignment, aligning seat washer should be applied.
